New York Loft Hostel was inaugurated in 2009. It stood out for its unique aesthetic features, spaciousness, and location, contributing to Bushwhick’s development as an avant-garde cultural and gastronomic area from the start. The project yielded 10x return on the investment in 2016.
In 2007, we discovered a disused industrial warehouse in Bushwick. The building was well-worn, but we could see beyond its condition and recognized that its structure had potential, the area’s accessibility was good —east of Williamsburg and a 25-minute subway ride away from Lower Manhattan. The area was beginning to undergo what was to become an effervescent artistic movement. We bought the building together with a local partner and began the restoration works to convert it into a loft building. Soon after the work was complete, the real estate market on this side of Brooklyn rocketed.
